Burnley ended their winless streak of 10 games by defeating 10-man Everton 2-1 in Saturday’s English Premier League clash played at Turf Moor.
Chris Wood scored the winner for the Clarets in the 80th minute of the encounter to hand Sean Dyche a win on his 250th game in charge of the club.
Turkish forward Cenk Tosun gave Everton the lead in the 20th minute before Ashley Barnes restored parity.
Burnley had the first chance in the encounter in the fifth minute after a decent piece of play but Johaan Berg Gudmundsson’s deflected shot from the edge of the box was easily saved by Pickford.
Turkey striker Tosun broke the deadlock with a header in the 20th minute for his first Everton goal since joining them in January.
Barnes scored the equaliser nine minutes into the second half, beating Jordan Pickford from close range.
Wood grabbed the winner for Burnley when he headed in Gudmundsson’s corner.
Ashley Williams was sent off for Everton in the 86 minute for elbowing Ashley Barnes.
The win moves Burnley to seventh in the EPL table with 40 points from 29 games while Everton are ninth with 34 points from the same number of games.
