Lagos-based Buruj Sports Academy have been drawn into Group D2 of the West Africa Football tournament otherwise known as the Frank Peters Cup 2016.
The tournament, which holds in Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State from 6 November to 20 November, has 64 football academies drawn from the West African sub-region in attendance and will have scouts from leading European leagues in attendance to monitor promising players.
The winner of the tourney is expected to represent the sub-region at the Durban U-19 Cup in South Africa as well as go home with a N1.5m cash prize.
In order to ensure quality participation at the competition, Buruj Academy will step up preparation with a friendly game on Thursday morning against Young Strikers FC at the Agege Stadium by 8am.
Buruj Sports Academy engaged Premier League newcomers Remo Stars of Sagamu in a friendly game last Wednesday where star player Onyekachi Nwaiwu was spotted and penciled down for a possible move to Europe.
