Borussia Dortmund came close to sign Juventus defender Leonardo Spinazzola but the deal collapsed because of an injury. BVB are reported to have offered 25million euros for the player, who has been with Juve since he joined from Siena in 2010, and a deal was on the verge of going through.
However, it has now been revealed that the knee injury which Spinazzola picked up towards the end of last season, prevented the deal from happening.
The defender is currently battling back to full fitness and is expected to be available again in November, two months before the transfer window re-opens.
Whether BVB will reignite their interest in the player in the new year remains to be seen, but he may well have to prove his fitness before another bid is made.
However it is claimed that Juve would again be open to the idea of doing a deal if Dortmund or any other club make a bid.
