Super Eagles and Lille of France shot stopper Vincent Enyeama has congratulated Yaya Toure after the Ivory Coast captain was named 2014 Africa Player of the Year for the fourth year running.
At the awards held last night at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos, Toure beat off the duo of Enyeama and Gabon striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the prestigious award.
Reacting to the award, Enyeama hailed the Manchester City midfielder for emerging winner once again.
He wrote on his Instagram: “Congratulations to @YayaToure for being named the 2014 African footballer of the year. #BravoYaya.”
In other awards that were given out, Super Falcons forward Asisat Oshoala was named Africa Woman Player of the Year and Youth Player of the Year. National Team of the Year went to Algeria while the Women’s National Team of the Year award went to Nigeria.
Also, the duo of Enyeama and Ahmed Musa were named in the list of Africa’s Finest X1.
