By James Agberebi: Austria Wien forward Ibrahim Alhassan has backed his former club Akwa United to overturn their 2-1 home loss to Gambia’s Banjul United in the first-leg Preliminary Round of the CAF Confederation Cup, Completesportsnigeria.com. (CSN) reports.
Aiteo Cup holders, Akwa United, were stunned by Banjul United inside the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, on February 11.
In the return leg which comes up Wednesday, February 20, Akwa must beat Banjul by more than a goal to advance into the next round.
Looking ahead to the game, Alhassan reacted to a tweet by Akwa United defender, Ariwachukwu Emmanuel who expressed confidence that Akwa United can overturn the 2-1 first-leg deficit in Uyo.
