CAFCC: Depleted Rangers Fly to Cairo Friday Ahead Al Masry Clash

Enugu Rangers, one of Nigeria’s two representatives in the 2019/2020 CAF Confederation Cup competition are billed to fly out to Cairo, Egypt, on Friday ahead of Sunday’s matchday-two Group A match against Al Masry, Completesports.com reports.

The Flying Antelopes lost their opening group match 1-3 to another Egyptian side Pyramids.

Al Masry won their first Group A game 3-2 away against Mauritanian side, FC Noudhibou.

The Coal City Flying Antelopes will fly out of Enugu on Thursday to Lagos from where they will be airlifted to Egypt by Egypt Air on Friday.

Salisu Yusuf will have his hands full as Rangers will face Al Masry without seven first team players.

Captain Tope Olusesi was red carded in the 3-1 home defeat by Pyramid, hence will miss the party to Egypt.

Similarly, defenders Uche John and Paper Usmane will sit out action on account of injury.

Completesports.com checks reveal that experienced midfielder, Ikechukwu Ibenegbu, winger Godspower Anifiok, defender Semiu Liadi and Akpos Adubi will miss the match in Egypt.

“The team is in high spirit to make up for the home defeat by Pyramids despite the fact the squad is depleted by injuries and the suspension of captain Tope Olusesi following his red card in the match in Enugu on Sunday,” Media Officer of the club, Norbert Okolie said ahead of the team’s departure to Cairo.
