Enyimba is erroneously interpreted as the ‘People’s Elephant.’ The word was coined in the 1950s to describe Aba as the ‘Big City’ . Out of this sprang the war song ‘Nzogbu Enyimba..’ which was used by fans of its football team, the ‘Aba Giant Killers’ to frighten opponents. I come from Aba.
