Nigeria’s CAF Champions League representatives MFM FC will depart for Algeria on Thursday morning for the second leg of their first round fixture against MC Alger, Completesportsnigeria. com reports.
The game will be played on Saturday at the July 5 Stadium, Algiers at 8.45 pm Nigerian time.
18 players and some key officials of the Lagos club will leave for the game tomorrow morning via the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.
The Olukoya Boys who are playing in the competition for the first time after finishing second in the Nigeria Professional Football League last term secured a slim 2-1 win against Bernard Casoni’s men last week Tuesday at the Agege Stadium, Lagos.
“We have prepared well for the game and the management of the club have done their best to motivate the players,” media officer of the club, Olawale Quadry informed Completesportsnigeria. com.
“It’s going to be tough out there, but we will do our best to make the country proud.”
MFM, who drew their previous away game in the competition 1-1 against AS Real de Bamako of Mali, face a daunting task in their bid to make it to the group stage considering MC Alger’s performance in their last home game against Otoho of Congo.
The Algerians annihilated the Congolese 9-0 after losing the first leg 2-0.
