Fulham captain Tom Cairney has been ruled out of Saturday’s Premier League clash at Cardiff City but Timothy Fosu-Mensah could return.
The Scotland international missed the 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Arsenal before the international break because of an ankle injury but it was hoped he would be back in contention for the trip to Wales.

However, manager Slavisa Jokanovic confirmed at a press conference on Thursday that midfielder Cairney is unavailable for selection as he continues to recover from the niggling issue.
The Serbian tactician also revealed left-back Joe Bryan, who was one of a number of players to arrive at Craven Cottage in the summer, remains out with a hamstring problem.
He said: “For the Cardiff game, we can’t use Joe Bryan and Thomas Cairney.”
Netherlands international Fosu-Mensah, who is on a season-long loan from Manchester United, has recovered from a shoulder injury and could be included in the squad.
Jokanovic added: “Fosu-Mensah has been working with us. He’s still not 100% after the last game, but you don’t need to be 100% ready. You need to be strong-minded. He can be available.”
