Cameroon Fire Super Eagles Warning, Beat Tunisia Away

By James Agberebi:

Africa Cup of Nations champions the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon defeated Tunisia 1-0 in a friendly game in Monastir, Tunisia on Friday night, reports.

The only goal of the game was scored by AFCON 2017 hero Vincent Aboubakar in the 14th minute to secure the win for the Lions.

Aboubakar scored the winning goal for Cameroon in their 2-1 win against Egypt at this year’s AFCON final in Gabon.

The friendly against Tunisia was part of preparations for Cameroon ahead of their 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier against the Super Eagles in Uyo in August, a game the Lions cannot afford to lose as they trail Nigeria by four points.

The five-time African champions will represent Africa at this year’s FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia later in the year.

It will be their third appearance at the tournament after previously taking part at the 2001 edition in Korea/Japan and the 2003 edition in France where they lost 1-0 to the French in the final.
