Cech Backs Arsenal To Win EPL Title, Wenger Cautious

Arsenal goalkeeper Petr Cech believes the Gunners are set to win their first Premier League title since 2004, although his manager Arsene Wenger has called for caution.

Former Chelsea star Cech told BBC Sport Focus: "The squad is very strong and once we have everybody available, the manager can use every player the way he likes.

"That will be to our advantage and we'll be able to go all the way."

Wenger's side are two points behind leaders Leicester and have lost only once in 11 league games, but the Frenchman is not getting carried away.

"It is much too early to say who will win the Premier League. We are only halfway," said Wenger during his press conference ahead of the Boxing Day clash at Southampton.
"We lost our first game at West Ham so we weren’t sure we’d be here at Christmas.
"Football is pragmatic, no one can predict what will happen in the next 17 games for example.
"We go with the same attitude and spirit.
"If you look back at 2015, we have been consistent overall and have had quite a positive record. Stabilised our defensive record and improved against strong teams. We’re going the right way."
Wenger revealed that Alexis Sanchez will not be involved, adding that the Spaniard and Mesut Ozil will have their contracts looked at in May in view of extensions.

  • Petr Cech is just mouthing.I do not expect him to say anything contrary. He is an Arsenal player of course. Chelsea players will say something like it too. One thing is going on in EPL. The EPL is upside down at the moment. I strongly believe that Leicester will not easily give up the number one position without a fience fight. As of today Leicester is the most steady, balanced and happy club. They are enjoying their play as underdog. They have the no1 and joint no 2 highest scorer in the EPL. They have a solid midfield even with Drinkwater being injured. They have a solid back with their captain martialing things with Hutt, a former Chelsea player. Their goalkeeper is one of the best in the EPL except Petr Cech and Joe Hart. Their coach is the coolest coach around with about 30 years experience in top leagues and as a coach of Greece So Petr Cech is just blabbing. He is not even considering Watford, Tottenham and the post Mourinho Chelsea. Arsenal will not with all assurance pick the league cup. They may and this is a good time but Leicester is the most likely team to run away with the cup. Something tells me so.
