1 -Real Madrid are the first side to reach three consecutive CL finals since Juventus achieved the feat between 1996 and 1998.
2 – Real Madrid and Liverpool are meeting in the UEFA Champions League final for the second time. They have met five times in Europe and Liverpool lead their head-to-head record 3-2. Considering the goals, Liverpool have scored six in their clashes while Madrid have scored four. The match is a repeat of the 1981 title clash where Liverpool won 1-0 in Paris thanks to defender Alan Kennedy’s 82nd minute goal. Interestingly, that was Madrid’s last defeat in the final of the competition.
2- The 2017/18 UEFA Champions League final will be Jurgen Klopp’s second appearance. In 2013, Klopp lost 2-1 in his first final while in charge of Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich in the first ever all-German club final at Wembley Stadium on 25 May 2013. While Zidane has won the two finals he has qualified for.
3- A win for Real will make them the third team to claim three straight European Cup titles. Ajax (1971-73) and Bayern Munich (1974-76) are the only others to win three titles in a row. While Real Madrid have won the title 12 times (1956, 1957, 1958, 1959, 1960, 1966, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2014, 2016 and 2017) in 15 finals they have also won their last six finals.

Ronaldo’s brace against Juventus in last season’s final made him the first player to score in three UEFA Champions League finals, following his goals in 2008, for Manchester United FC, and 2014. 5- Sergio Ramos could become the fifth player to score in three UEFA Champions League finals. The Real Madrid captain found the net against Atletico in both 2014 and 2016, could join Ronaldo in scoring in three finals. Ramos is one of five players to have scored in two finals, along with Raúl González (2000, 2002), Samuel Eto’o (2006, 2009), Lionel Messi (2009, 2011) and Mario Mandzukic (2013, 2017). Marcelo and Gareth Bale – who both netted in 2014 – and Marco Asensio and Casemiro, on target 12 months ago, could all join that list in Kyiv.
8- This is the eighth appearance for Liverpool in UCL finals. They have won the Champions League five times in their history (1977, 1978, 1981, 1984, 2005) losing twice. The last time thYe reached the final of the competition was in 2007 which they lost 2-1 to AC Milan.
9- Under Zinedine Zidane, Real Madrid have never been knocked out in the Champions League, progressing in all nine of their two-legged Champions League ties as well as winning the two finals they’ve appeared in.
15 – Cristiano Ronaldo is the top scorer in the competition this season with 15 goals, five more that Liverpool duo of Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah who have bagged ten goals apiece. Sadio Mane has scored nine while Edin Dzeko of AS Roma and Wissam Ben Yedder of Sevilla have eight goals apiece.
