The final group games of the 2015/2016 UEFA Champions League take place this week, with some clubs' qualification into the round of 16 not yet guaranteed.
As expected, some Nigerian players will be on parade in a bid to help their teams progress into the first knockout round of the Champions League or at worst, a Europa League spot.
On Tuesday, Super Eagles skipper Ahmed Musa and CSKA Moscow, who are already out of reckoning for a place in the round of 16, will travel to the Netherlands to face PSV in a Group B clash.
CSKA defeated PSV 3-2 in the reverse fixture, and will need to beat their hosts to stand a chance of making it to Europe's second-tier competition, the Europa League.
In Group F, on Wednesday, Brown Ideye's Olympiakos will have to stop Arsenal from scoring two clear goals to progress into the knockout stage.
Olympiakos, against the odds, beat Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates. And the Greek champions who received a 4-0 bashing in the hands of Bayern Munich on matchday five, look poise to advance provided they don't suffer a heavy home defeat.
Gent, who have in their ranks Super Eagles winger Moses Simon, will host already qualified Zenit, and need a win of any kind against the Russians to progress in Group H.
The Belgian champions gave their qualification hopes a world of good when they beat Lyon 2-1 in France. And they will also hope Valencia slip up when they host Lyon at the Mestalla, because a Valencia draw and a Gent draw will see the Belgians through.
Super Eagles midfielder Mikel Obi and his struggling Chelsea side will need to avoid defeat against visiting FC Porto to guarantee their passage from Group G.
Both teams are currently tied on 10 points, while Dynamo Kyiv are on eight points. The Ukrainian club stand a very good chance of advancing, if they beat Nosa Igiebor's Maccabi Tel Aviv who have been the whipping boys in the group.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
