Sammy Ameobi was on target as Bolton Wanderers recorded a 2-1 home win against Semi Ajayi ‘ s Rotherham United in a Championship clash at the Macron Stadium on Tuesday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Ameobi scored the opening goal for the home team in the 33rd minute after he was teed up by Gary O’Neil.
Will Vaulks equalised for the visitors four minutes later but O’Neil netted the winning goal for the Trotters 25 minutes from time.
Ameobi was replaced by Will Buckley in the 95th minute of the encounter.
The 26-year-old has now scored two goals in 12 league appearances for Bolton Wanderers this season.
Ajayi was on for the entire 90 minutes in the game in what was his 24th league appearance of the campaign.
At the St Andrews Stadium, Oghenekaro Etebo was left on the bench for 90 minutes in Stoke City’s 2-0 away defeat to Birmingham City.
Etebo has now missed the Potters last two games after returning from suspension following a red card.
He has featured in 14 league games for the club this season.
Sone Aluko was left on the bench for 90 minutes in Reading ‘ s 1-0 away defeat against Millwall at the Den.
