By Johnny Edward: Nigeria midfielder Ifeanyi Ifeanyi has warned his teammates that their African Nations Championship quarter-final clash with Angola this evening will not be a stroll in the park, Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN) reports.
The Home Eagles came from a goal down to beat Equatorial Guinea 3-1 to advance from Group C as winners after two wins and a draw while Angola played out a goalless draw against Congo in a Group D clash on Wednesday in Agadir as the two sides progressed to the knockout stage.
The draw was Angola’s second of the tournament after defeating Cameroon 1-0.
“We started slowly in the tournament but we are in good shape now but I must admit Angola will be difficult,” Akwa United star Ifeanyi told CSN.
“I don’t think it’s going to be easy but it will be quite evenly matched in the way we play, so it could go either way, but we’re looking forward to it.
“I am confident we can get past the quarter-finals to surpass our best feat in the tournament.”
