Chelsea FC have quashed claims that the club is up for sale. A report from the Sunday Times on Sunday claimed that Blues owner Roman Abramovich would be seeking more than £2billion for an outright sale of 0 West London club.
However, The Mirror learnt from a club source that nothing has changed at Stamford Bridge, and that the club is not up for sale at the present time.
Chelsea had attracted interest from Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the richest man in Britain – earlier this year, amid claims that Abramovich was ready to sell after 15 years in charge of the club.
That led to plans for the club’s new 60,000 seater stadium to be put on hold, while the club also faced managerial uncertainty as they sacked Antonio Conte and replaced him with Maurizio Sarri.
The new boss has been given money for transfers though, with Sarri snapping up midfielder Jorginho and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga – the most expensive goalkeeper in the world at £71m – before the start of this season.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
