Super Eagles stars John Mikel Obi and Victor Moses will feature in Chelsea’s last friendly before the start of the 2014/15 season against Spanish side, Real Sociedad on August 12.
The Blues have not hosted a pre-season friendly in nearly a decade, the last being a 1-1 draw with Celtic in 2006 when Jose Mourinho had his first spell at the club.
The ticket prices are also being kept fairly cheap for the game, a statement by the club on its website disclosed.
Chelsea’s first pre-season game ahead of next season however will be against lower league side, Wycombe on July 16 at the latter’s Adams Park.
Chelsea are expected to parade the club’s second string players and those who were not in action in the 2014 World Cup in the pre-season friendlies.
The Premier League season kicks off on Saturday August 16, 2014, with Jose Mourinho’s men playing against promoted side, Burnley in their first game of the season.
The duo of Mikel and Moses have been widely speculated to be on their way out of the club next season as the former European champions seek to reinforce their team ahead of next season.
In the case of Moses, his situation is even more dicey as Liverpool, the club he spent a season on loan last term are not keen to make his stint a permanent one due to his below-par performances for The Reds.
The pre-season friendlies will come as the perfect chance for Mourinho to ascertain which players are likely to work with him in the new season.
