Chelsea Edge Norwich As West Brom Hold Leaders Leicester

Chelsea maintained their unbeaten run in the Premier League under Guus Hiddink after they beat Norwich City 2-1 on Tuesday night.

In another match on the night, Leicester failed to consolidate their hold on top when West Brom held them to a 2-2 draw at the King Power Stadium.


Brazilian youngster Kenedy and Diego Costa secured the win for the Blues.

Kenedy gave Chelsea the lead under one minute, striking a left-foot shot which flew past John Ruddy.

Cameron Jerome came close to making it 1-1 in the third minute but failed to connect with a cross.

In the fourth minute, Bertrand Traore failed to pounce on an Eden Hazard cut back.

Jerome had a chance in 17 minutes but his header drops onto the roof of the net.

In the 36th minute Cesc Fabregas header went off target.

Ruddy made a brilliant save in the 40th minute, parrying away a Fabregas free-kick.

Diego Costa doubled Chelsea lead in the first minute of added time, beating the offside trap before lifting the ball over Ruddy.

Jerome met a cross from the right only to see his left strike miss the target on 49th minute.

Jerome had a golden chance to halve the deficit on 52nd minute shot over the bar from six yard.

In the 58th minute, Chelsea made a double change, bringing in Mikel Obi and Willian for Oscar and Traore.

In the 68th minute Nathan Redmond made it 2-1 blasting the ball past Courtois off a fine through ball to him.

On 77 minutes, Gary O’neil’s long range strike took a slight deflection and went away for a corner.

Matic almost extend Chelsea lead in the 88 minute but poked his effort over the bar from a corner.

A minute later, Redmond saw his left-foot strike narrowly miss the target.

Costa almost grabbed his second goal in added time, connecting with a pass which went wide.

Chelsea are now eight in the league table on 39 points while Norwich are 18th.

Salomon Randon put West Brom ahead before Danny Drinkwater’s strike took a deflection off Jonas Olsson and into the net to make it 1-1.

Andy King put Leicester in front off a flick from Riyad Mahrez.

But Craig Gardner levelled for West Brom from a free-kick.
