Chelsea have made a move to land Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper, Kepa Arrizabalaga, for a record transfer fee for a goalkeeper, according to reports in several Spanish media.
The 23-year-old has a buyout clause set at £72million and Athletic Bilbao will not negotiate.
Arrizabalaga is expected to arrive in London on Wednesday to complete a five-year contract at Chelsea.
The Spaniard is seen a a potential replacement for Thibaut Courtois who is desperate for a move to Real Madrid this summer.
The Belgian has failed to report back for training after his extended holiday elapsed.
Chelsea, according to reports are set to fine Courtois around £200,000 which is around two-weeks wages for going AWOL and have set price tag of £45m for his transfer, but may settle for less given the keeper has just 12 months to run on his current deal.
