Chelsea are in the hunt to try and sign attacking midfielder Nabil Fekir from Lyon, according to reports. The 25-year-old is a long-term target of Premier League clubs with Liverpool coming very close to a deal to sign him in the summer.
A fee had been agreed between Lyon and Jurgen Klopp’s side but the Ligue 1 outfit pulled out of the deal at the last minute before the window slammed shut, and he stay put with Bruno Genesio’s side.
Fekir netted 18 goals in 29 appearances last season but he has been hampered by injuries this term, making only seven appearances, but also scoring three goals.
Now Chelsea are reportedly in the market to do a deal for him, to try and bolster their midfield ranks.
It is not expected that they will be able to complete a deal for the Frenchman in January, however, with any deal for the player likely to take place next summer.
