Flying Eagles forward Chidera Eze is now training with the FC Porto U19 team and did not travel with the main squad to pre-season in the Netherlands.
Eze, a key member of the Nigerian Golden Eaglets side that won last year’s FIFA U-17 World Cup in UAE has reached an agreement with the Nigeria U20 team not to feature in next month’s final African Youth Championship qualifier against Lesotho so as to focus on his club career.
He scored one of the goals as the Flying Eagles dismantled Tanzania to advance in the qualifying series for Senegal 2015.
But in the process he suffered a hamstring injury, which he has since recovered from.
