Chievo have been given an immediate three-point deduction and fined 200,000 euros for transfer irregularities.
The Serie A club have been found guilty of incorrect accountancy practices in the transfer of players to and from Cesena in the past 12 months, while club president Luca Campedelli has been handed a three-month ban.
The Italian FA’s (FIGC) state tribunal ruled on the case and it means the Flying Donkeys will move to minus one point and stay at the bottom of the table after only managing a single point from their opening three games.
Chievo were found guilty of exaggerating the value of players sold between themselves and Cesena in a three-year period between 2015 and 2018.
