Chile's Fabian Manilla has been ruled out of Tuesday's Group A clash against the Golden Eaglets at the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Manilla suffered a severe ankle injury just after seven minutes in their opening group game with Croatia which ended 1-1 at the Estadio Nacional in Santiago on Saturday.
And acccording to a report on the Chilean Football Federation website, the Catholic Cross University defender will play no part in the team's group games but will undergo further tests on his ankle.
"What is unclear from Monilla injury is that we don't know how long he'll be out. He has to undergo more tests so we can know what other steps to take," Chile's U-17 coach Miguel Ponce was quoted.
"It's unfortunate that he won't play but he'll be with us ."
Chile are currently tied with Croatia on one point and must beat Nigeria on Tuesday to brighten their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages of the competition.
