Dereck Chisora thinks fellow heavyweight Dillian Whyte should have a chance of fighting for a heavyweight belt. The two boxers fought last Saturday evening with Whyte securing a devastating 11th-round knockout to win a thrilling rematch, just over two years after Whyte won on points via a split decision.
Despite trading blows before and during the fight, Chisora now believes that Whyte has earned the right to fight for a world title, and has earmarked Anthony Joshua as a potential opponent. “I’ve said this before. I think Dillian should get his world title shot. When he won the WBC Silver [belt], it’s been two years now.
I don’t know why he hasn’t boxed for it but I think he deserves his shot,” Chisora said. “He deserves it but I think everybody wants to see that fight Deontay Wilder versus AJ [Anthony Joshua]. If that happens then you’ve got [Tyson] Fury in the mix as well… Eddie [Hearn, Whyte’s promoter] has to fight for Dillian to fight for a world title.”Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
