Dereck Chisora is hopeful that the terms for a heavyweight rematch with Dillian Whyte will be agreed at some point next week. Talk of a December showdown has been rumbling on for some time after the duo served up an enthralling bout in late 2016 which Whyte edged via a split decision.
Whyte has since seen his stock rise considerably after successive victories against former heavyweight champions Lucas Brown and Joseph Parker respectively which has resulted in him setting his sights on a world title fight.
However, Chisora proved he still has something to offer in the heavyweight division with an impressive eighth-round KO of Carlos Takam at the O2 Arena in July.
Having taken on former heavyweight and cruiserweight world champion David Haye as his manager, Chisora seems confident that promoter Eddie Hearn will tie up a fight deal on his return to the UK after the weekend.
“We want to fight Dillian. It’s going to happen,” ‘Del Boy’ told Sky Sports. “Why is it not going to happen?
“It will be announced when [promoter Eddie Hearn] comes back from America, I think. Talks are going well.
“We’re just waiting for Eddie to come back from America. He’s in America and he’ll be back on Monday.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
