Chris Nwosu: CSL Clubs Can Overcome Their Financial Troubles; Bundesliga Good For Nigerian Players

By Izuchukwu Okosi:

Former Super Eagles midfielder, Christopher Nwosu, believes Chinese Super League clubs who were recently embroiled in financial crisis can overcome their recent setbacks,,but will not mind seeing some Nigerian stars in the CSL sign for German Bundesliga clubs this summer, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Thirteen clubs in the Chinese Super League, as well as four from the second division and one from the third tier were reportedly oweing their players wages and bonuses.

The affected clubs have until August 31 to clear all outstanding payments or face exclusion from next year's Asian Champions League.

"The system and organisation in China shows that they can exceed expectations, but in the beginning, a huge project like that will be difficult," Nwosu told Completesportsnigeria.com.

"When situations like this arise, it doesn't really affect the players, but it is the clubs that bear the brunt. I believe they will overcome the problems.

"Would I like Nigerian players in the Chinese Super League to come over to the (German) Bundesliga? Why not?

"There are not many Nigerian players in Germany now, but there are at least some decent teams that have shown that they are ambitious and can be good for our players."

Big spenders; Guangzhou Evergrande, Shanghai Shenhua and Shanghai SIPG are some of the big Chinese clubs involved in the debt crisis.

Chinese football authorities intend stopping spending excesses in the league, with new laws put in place that will have clubs heavily taxed on huge fees paid for acquiring their players.
