Chris Nwosu: Super Eagles Will Qualify For 2017 AFCON

By Izuchukwu Okosi:

Former Nigeria international Christopher Nwosu is optimistic that the Super Eagles under new coach, Sunday Oliseh, will get better and ultimately qualify for the 2017 AfricaCup of Nations in Gabon.

The game was Oliseh's first in charge of the Super Eagles and their uninspiring performance drew lots of criticisms from Nigerians.

"Its just the first game for the trainer, but things will get better. There'll be great change in their game. Nigeria will be at the 2017 African Cup of Nations, no doubt, Nwosu told

"Does the 0-0 draw change the thoughts of Nigerian football fans? I hope not. What do you want to hear about the performance? The most important thing is not to lose crucial games like this and qualifying for the Nations Cup. There's certainly room for improvement," Nwosu, who was in Nigeria's team to the 1987 U17 World Cup and 1989 U20 World Cup hosted by Canada and Saudi reiterated.

The Super Eagles will on Tuesday play an international friendly against Niger Republic in Port Harcourt.

Olise should have known that Key matches required no experiments . He was fortunate his keeper had nice moments. He is now in fragile situation, as all eyes will be on him. He should be decisive and do away with third class players or pay a huge price.
