–Ex-Nigeria captain urges Keshi to work on team’s attack
A former Nigeria captain and one time coach of the senior national team, Christian Chukwu, has said the Super Eagles are 70 per cent ready for the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals taking place in Brazil from June 12 through July 13.
Chukwu maintained that his position was predicated on the improvement in the team’s play against Greece which he noted was a massive lift from their performance in the scoreless draw with Scotland in an earlier friendly match.
The one time Harambee Stars of kenya and ex-SAFA FC, Lebanon gaffer believes the Super Eagles are 70 percent ready for the Mundial, insisting that after the friendly against USA tomorrow, the team would have become 75-80 per cent ready to face the World in Brazil.
“I didn’t watch the match against Greece but the video clips I saw convinced me that there was a remarkable improvement in their performance as against what they put up against Scotland”, the Enugu Rangers Technical Consultant said.
“After those two friendly games, I can say the team is about 70 per cent ready for the World Cup. Yes they are getting ready for the World Cup but we must understand the fact that no team is ever 100 per cent ready going into a competition.”
