Manchester City’s interest in Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has cooled after they were quoted £70million for the prospect.
Reports in France this week stated the Premier League champions had a £47.5m offer rejected in the summer by the Ligue 1 outfit, having seen their main target Jorginho snub them in favour of a move to Chelsea.
It’s understood Pep Guardiola is an admirer of the France Under-21 starlet and the player recently did himself no harm at all in Lyon’s shock 2-1 Champions League victory over the Citizens.
City, though, are now looking at other options after they initially brought up Ndombele’s name in the talks which saw Belgian central defender Jason Denayer move to Lyon for £12m just before the transfer deadline.
It’s understood Lyon refused to budge from their £70m asking price, pointing out the player is under contract until 2022, with Paris Saint-Germain also linked to his signature.
City aren’t interested at that price and consider Ajax prodigy Frenkie de Jong and Wolves’ Portuguese star Ruben Neves as better value for money, although they will continue to monitor how Ndombele develops in the coming months.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
