Club World Cup: Mazembe Lose To Club America, Finish Sixth

Africa’s representatives TP Mazembe lost to Mexico’s Club America 2-1 in the fifth place match of the FIFA Club World Cup.
Played at the Osaka Nagai Stadium, Dario Benedetto put Club America in front in the 19th minute. Then in the 28th minute, Martin Zuniga doubled their lead.
Zambia’s Rainford Kalaba pulled a goal back for TP Mazembe in the 43rd minute but Club America held on for the win.
Mazembe got to the final of the 2010 edition of the Club World Cup, losing 3-0 to Inter Milan.
Meanwhile, the quarter-finals of the FIFA Club World Cup will see Sanfrecce Hiroshima take on Copa Libertadores champions River Plate, while Barcelona will square off against Guangzhou Evergrande.
