Nathaniel Clyne scored his first and Liverpool’s only goal in their 1-0 defeat of Bournemouth in the Fourth Round Capital One Cup tie at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Jurgen Klopp rang some changes in his starting line up notably in attack with Divork Origi coming in place of injured Christian Benteke.
Kolo Toure also suffered a hamstring injury in the game in which Jordon Ibe and young Portuguese star Joao Carlos Teixeira were impressive in.
The young Portuguese broke the offside trap to pick up Firmino’s through ball and his cheeky back heel looked in before defender Adam Smith hooked clear.
It only got as far as Clyne’s left foot though and he side footed his first Liverpool goal with 17 minutes gone.
The Reds featured three full debuts in an inexperienced line-up of nine changes, with Cameron Brannagan in midfield and Connor Randall at right back.
Bournemouth looked to attack Randall with Marc Pugh a threat on the left but the young defender held up well.
