Cockerill Frustrated With Ospreys Loss

Edinburgh coach Richard Cockerill felt his side should have taken more from their 17-13 Pro14 loss to Ospreys on Friday night. Two second-half tries from giant winger George North ensured the Welsh club claimed the win, with the Scots taking a losing bonus point from the Conference B encounter.

Edinburgh enjoyed plenty of possession but could not turn it into points, with Blair Kinghorn scoring the Murrayfield outfit’s only try.

Simon Hickey’s brace of penalties kept them in the hunt but the visitors committed too many errors and although pleased not to come away empty-handed, Cockerill knows what he and his charges must improve on.

“Reality bites a little bit and we’ve got some work to do,” he told BBC Scotland. “We’d spoken about controlling the ball and building pressure, and we just didn’t do it. I’m pleased we take a point away, I’m pleased we’ve got the minerals to stay in the game.

“If we were 10% more accurate, that’s a game we could’ve won.”
