Congo men’s volleyball team Saturday defeated Team Nigeria 3-1 at the GAMD sports hall, Diata.
The hosts were on top from start to finish with huge backing from their home supporters.
Congo dominated proceedings, winning the first set 25-20 within 21minutes, 56 secs.
Team Nigeria men’s team head coach, Augustin Odoume, said afterwards that despite the loss, his team still stand a chance to qualify from the group.
“It’s sad we lost but we still can make it from the group. We just have to work hard and raise our game in coming games,” Odoume said told completesportsnigeria.com.
Egypt defeated Botswana 3-1 in an earlier Group A match preceding the Nigeria/Congo clash.
Mozambique, Gambia, Congo, Egypt, Botswana and Nigeria make up Group A of the volleyball event of the 11th All Africa Games here in Congo Brazzaville.
