Conte: Alonso, Moses Must Be More Prolific

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has urged Marcos Alonso and Victor Moses to be more prolific playing as for the team reports.

Chelsea recorded their first win of the season defeating Tottenham Hotspurs 2-1 at the Wembley stadium on Sunday.

A goal in each half from Alonso, a superb free-kick in the first half and a strike late in the game, sealed the win after substitute Michy Batshuayi had diverted the ball into his own net to restore parity for Spurs.

The brace took Alonso’s tally to eight goals in 33 Premier League appearances for Chelsea, making him the most prolific defender in the league since he arrived last season.

“I am not surprised [he scored]. If you remember last season he scored five or six goals, it was the same with Moses,” Conte told the club’s official website.

“He missed a lot of chances last season to improve his tally, but I know very well the wing-backs are the real wingers, and sometimes they must become strikers.”
