Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has thanked Super Eagles skipper John Mikel Obi for his service to the London club.and wishes him and his family well as he starts an new career at Chinese Super League club, Tianjin Teda, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Mikel on Friday formally moved to Chinese club Tianjin TEDA with a contract reported to be around £140,000 per week.
Speaking at his Friday's press conference ahead of Chelsea's FA Cup home tie against Peterborough on Sunday, Conte praised Mikel for his professionalism throughout his last days at Chelsea.
Conte also hoped non of his remaining Chelsea players will receive offers from China, stressing that it is important they all stay together.
"I thank Mikel for the period he worked with me. He showed great attitude and I wish him and his family the best," Conte stated.
"I hope Mikel and Oscar are the last of my players to receive offers from China. It is important to remain with this squad."
Conte Hope to see his team returning to winning ways after their 2-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday.
"I have seen the right atmosphere among the players since they lost against Tottenham Hotspur.
"One defeat is enough and it is important to starting winning quickly, starting with the FA Cup game.
"Peterborough will be motivated and it's important to know the atmosphere will be different due to large number of away fans."
."I will try to find the right mix including players who have not played a lot, as I want to progress in the competition."
The former Juventus boss disclosed that Kurt Zouma will return to the team after recovering from a long injury layoff.
"Kurt Zouma will start on Sunday and he is ready and deserves to do so.
"Zouma's injury was very bad and he knew he needed a long time to recover, but now he is in good shape."
And on adding to his squad in the January transfer window and also his future with Chelsea, Conte said:"I will only consider January signings if the right players are available."
"I want to stay at Chelsea for a long period. And I thank Michael Emenalo for his similar words on the subject."
