Stephen Cook says he is looking forward to his time with Glamorgan after signing a short-term deal. South African opening batsman Cook has joined the English outfit as their overseas player for the remainder of the 2018 campaign and will deputise for the injured Shaun Marsh.
The 35-year-old will be available for the final four County Championship division two matches and is expected to make his debut in the away clash at Derbyshire on Tuesday, September 4.
Cook, who has amassed over 14,000 first-class runs during his career and has a highest score of 390, is hoping his arrival can help Glamorgan, who are bottom of the table, end the campaign positively.
“I’m excited to join Glamorgan for the rest of the season and hopefully can help them finish the season on a positive note,” he told the club’s official website. “Glamorgan have some very talented young batsmen at the Club and I look forward to joining them and offering any help I can.”
