–NFF pledges technical support
Super Sand Eagles will start an intensive camping exercise for this year’s edition of Copa Lagos on Wednesday in Badagry.
Coach Adamu Ejoor said that it is going to be a tough camping exercise because they have a lot of ground to cover before the tournament starts December 12th.
“Yes we are going to start camping from Wednesday and I can assure you that it will be a hard one since we have eight days before Copa Lagos starts the following week.
“The players know themselves and one very good thing that will work for us is that all the players that have been invited are the boys I have worked with for so many years.
“There are new rules in beach soccer and while training, we are also going to learn the new rules of the game.
“I am sure we are going to be ready for Copa Lagos because we need to retain the trophy at the end of the competition,” Ejor said.
The Super Sand Eagles has won all previous three tournaments since 2011.
Meanwhile the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has pledged to provide needed technical support to Kinetic Sports for a hitch-free tournament.
According to the Secretary of the Federation, Barr Musa Amadu, the Federation appreciates the efforts of the Chief Executive Officer, Kinetic Sports, Samson Adamu for his resilience in organising the 3-day tournament annually. He noted that the only way to support the tournament is by providing necessary technical support in the area of officiating.
Corroborating the NFF scribe, the Chairman, Committee on Beach Soccer in the House of Representative, Hon. Kwande Solomon said that NFF would provide required logistics needed for a successful hosting of the tournament.
Amadu added that NFF would ensure that Kinetic Sports is assisted with all valuable documents required by the Nigerian Embassies and Immigration authorities to facilitate visa procurements as well as granting other privileges to all invited international teams.
Speaking on the Super Sand Eagles preparedness, the NFF general secretary disclosed that the team Coach, Ejo Sule has already submitted the team list to the football body.
Preparation is in top gear and we are going to call the team to camp ahead of the event. ‘At the moment, the Coach of the Super Sand Eagles, Ejor has sent his team list. Despite the short time coupled with financial constraint, we shall motivate them adequately to defend the title for the third time,’ Amadu reiterated.
