Cote d’Ivoire defeated Guinea 2-1 on Sunday to claim third spot in the African Nations Championship in Rwanda.
Guinea had the chance to take the lead from the penalty spot in the early part of the game, after Abdul Cisse in goal for Cote d’Ivoire brought down a Guinea attacker in the 18-yard box.
Cisse made amends by stopping the resultant penalty.
In the 32nd minute, Cote d’Ivoire took the lead following an own-goal by Koffi Davy Bouah.
Two minutes later, Gbagnon Badie doubled Cote d’ivoire’s lead to make it 2-0.
In the 63rd minute, Guinea were awarded another penalty and again Cisse parried it away.
In the 86th minute, Alseny Camara finally got Guinea on the score sheet after heading in a free-kick.
