Courtney: My W/Cup Experience Indescribable

By Johnny Edward:

Super Falcons forward Courtney Dike has admitted that her experience at the on-going FIFA Women's World Cup in Canada has been completely indescribable for her.

The Oklahoma State soccer player saw her first World Cup action in the second group game as a substitute in the closing minutes of a 2-0 loss to Australia.

Courtney who played the entire first half and the first five minutes of the second before being subbed out in the Super Falcons 1-0 loss to the USA believes the reigning African champions will bounce back stronger.

She also added that she had learned so much from the squad and have achieved her life goal and dream.

"To say that we are ranked 33rd in the world and one of the younger teams in the World Cup – held fifth in the world Sweden to a 3-3 draw, and held the second best team in the world and football veterans (USA) to a one goal win (loss to the USA) in another thriller of a match, should tell you how much passion, resilience, tenacity and fight this group of girls had.

"I've learned so much on and off the field throughout this experience and will only use it as motivation to excel even more. I have truly lived my life goal and dream.

"I look forward to the future with this amazing family. We will definitely be back soon," Courtney wrote on her Instagram wall ‏@CourtneyDike.
