Brighton has handed a new one-year contract extension to young defender George Cox after his recovery from heart surgery.
The 20-year-old had to go under the knife for a life-threatening operation after an irregular heartbeat was picked up during routine screening by the club when he returned for pre-season training in July.

The news was a blow to Cox after he had worked hard to impress the last term by featuring in every game in the Under-23s’ promotion-winning season.
However, he is now back in the fold with the youngsters and Under-23s’ coach Simon Rusk insists that Cox fully warrants his new deal.
He said: “George thoroughly deserves his new contract. He’s delivered a consistent level of performance over the past few seasons and proved to be a valuable member of the team.
“After a difficult summer for George, he’s bounced back and picked up where he left off last season. He’s always developing and it’s great to have secure his services for another year.”Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
