CSKA Moscow manager, Viktor Gancharenko, has recognised the impact of Nigeria forward Ahmed Musa in his side’s 6-0 trouncing of Arsenal Tula in a Russia Premier League clash on Sunday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Musa, who is on loan at the club from former English Premier League champions Leicester City, bagged a brace in the encounter.
The 25-year-old doubled his team’s lead in the 11th minute and sealed the emphatic win four minutes after the break.
“Two quick goals forced Arsenal to open up a lot. I cannot say that we controlled the game. We carried out quick attacks, delivered the ball behind the defenders, but moments Arsenal had an advantage, I did not like it,” Gancheranko stated during post-match press conference.
“We attacked quickly and efficiently, the strikers Chalov and Musa played vividly. You can say, they played for the fans. The weather is football, an excellent field, a terrific entourage.”
Musa, who also bagged a brace in a league match against Krasnodar a fortnight ago, has now hit the back of the net five times in 10 league games for CSKA Moscow.
His return to form after his struggles in the first half of the season at Leicester City will no doubt delight Nigeria head coach, Gernot Rohr, who sees the forward as one of his key men for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia where they will battle Croatia, Iceland and Argentina in the group stage.
