CSKA Moscow Confirm Musa’s Return To Leicester, Wish Super Eagles World Cup Success

By James Agberebi:

Russian club CSKA Moscow on Friday announced that Super Eagles forward Ahmed Musa’s loan spell with them has officially expired, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.

Following his inability to tie down regular playing time at Leicester City, Musa returned to CSKA on loan during the January transfer window.

In a statement on CSKA Moscow’s official website, they wished Musa all the best at the 2018 World Cup with the Super Eagles of Nigeria, who will be in action against Croatia on Saturday.

“Today, the agreement between PFC CSKA and English club Leicester over the loan deal of Nigerian striker Ahmed Musa expired,” CSKA Moscow stated.

“Musa, who returned to the army club in the winter, in the second half of the season-2017/18, played 16 games for PFC CSKA Moscow, scored seven goals and helped the red and blue to win another ticket to the group stage of the Champions League.

“We thank Musa for helping the team this spring and wish him success in the 2018 World Cup and in his future career.”

What is wrong with CSKA? Why don’t they wait until after the WC before making this announcement? Ahmed Musa should take this as an inducement to do well in this WC so that he will be marketable.

A player played 16 matches & scored 7 goals. Can’t offer him a new contract & this news before his first 2018 world cup match. Why? Are you trying to motivate, encourage or discourage him? Musa remember what you did to Argentina in the last world cup. It’s time to do the-same to the whole world & show this ungrateful team what a world player you are?

Musa’s wages are too high for CSKA to bear. They dont have as much money as the epl clubs can throw around. And I guess musa isnt ready to take a pay cut. His wage bill was why it was difficult for leicester to offload him outrightly. The reason why musa switched back to cska was bcos he wanted to make d world cup team….and that has been achieved. Musa would rather go back to england to earn megabucks for 2 more seasons rather than take a huge pay cut. After all there’s not much at stake after Russia 2018
