By James Agberebi: Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo was in actiion for Changchun Yatai who held Shanghai Shenhua to a 1-1 away draw in their first league game of the Chinese Super League on Friday, Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN) reports.
Nigeria striker Obafemi Martins was however not in Shanghai Shenhua squad for the game.
Ighalo who joined Changchun Yatai from Premier League club Watford in January 2017, playerd for 90 minutes.
Oscar Romero opened scoring for Shanghai Shenhua in the 28th minute before Fan Xiaodong equalised for Changchun Yatai on 62 minutes.
The draw sees Changchun Yatai and Shanghai Shenhua temporarily go joint third on one point each in the league table after matchday-one games.
Changchun Yatai finished seventh and Shanghai Shenhua were 11th in the final league standing last season.
Ighalo scored 15 league goals for Changchun Yatai in last season’s campaign.
