20 goals in 25 league appearances. Wow!

If you can replicate this form (or anything near it) for the Super Eagles, I will be your best fan, even if you decide to play for a club in India or Congo.

  • _ Ighalo the goal-getter _

Scroring 20 goals in 25 matches at any level of football simply phenomenal but this may well be one of those instances where statistics fail to tell the complete story.

Ighalo was bought by changchun yatai in a big-money move to do one thing: score goals; and Ighalo is doing just that, Plenty of them in fact.

The ex-Watford man is delivering the goods big time in China.

While he brings smiles to faces of yatai fans, the same cannot be said of many Super Eagles fans who question his continued invitation to the national team despite his scintillating form in China.

So, should Ighalo continue to be invited to the Super Eagles?

The simple answer is to ask another question : why not?

Although Ighalo isn’t doing his goal scoring in England, Germany, Spain or Italy; the fact is he is scoring and that is really good for his confidence coming to national assignments.

He is the most prolific Nigeria striker out there at the moment – Fact.

For me, my expectations of him in Nigeria colours are low until he starts to prove that he can replicate his club form for country – still, I think his form warrants invitations.

Even when he was banging goals for Watford in the English Premier League, he was still poor for Nigeria.

But with time, maybe, just maybe the national team coach will unlock his goal scoring potential for Nigeria and we will finally see the same Watford/Yatai Ighalo in Nigeria colours.

ighalo is duin fyn in china bt need to replicate is form in the super eagles

This is very simple to explain. Some players are really good at the club level, they score goals every week.

But when its comes to the national team, they don’t score often. I will use Jonathan Apoborie as an example.

This is what the coach needs to look into. That is why we need our ex players in charge of the national team. The coach can not do it alone.

He needed someone to tell him if there’s need for that, he might not agree though. God bless Nigeria!!!

It may well be that those Teams Ighalo scored those fantastic goals against have no goal keepers at all. Otherwise, Newcastle FC will be running after him by now. We all know that in China, everything there are fake. Honestly, there is a rumor all over the place that those Teams in China play without Goal-keepers. Ha. l beg oo. (Smile.)
