The appointment of Solomon Ogbeide as Technical Adviser of Bayelsa United will be the masterstroke that will help the club reach its desired goals in the Glo Nigeria Professional Football League, according to coach Richard Cubagha.
The Management of the club reached an agreement in principle with Ogbeide, with two rounds of games to go in the first half of the 2013/14 season.
Now, Cubagha while speaking with Completesportsnigeria.com, expresses his satisfaction with the appointment of the experienced tactician.
“Solomon Ogbeide is an experienced coach whom we are all looking forward to working with. His experience will take the club to where the Management want it to be.
“I was the head of the coaching crew but the position of the Technical Adviser was vacant for sometime,” states Cubagha who led the Bayelsa side to a disappointing campaign in the CAF Confederation Cup.
” Beginning from the second stanza of the season, which is after the World Cup finals in Brazil, he (Ogbeide) will take charge of the coaching crew and we shall all give him the support he needs,” Cubagha who is still part of the six-man coaching crew of the club tells Completesportsnigeria.com.
Cubagha however states that if given the job of the Technical Adviser in future, it is a responsibility he will not shy away from.
“I’m still a young coach. I have a lot to learn from Ogbeide who has over 20 years working experience. Those who are called ‘Technical Advisers’ are the best in the land; it’s not a small responsibility. Maybe in future, if I’m offered the role, why not. As for now, we will cooperate with the in-coming coach,” Cubagha assures.
