Pharaohs head coach Hector Cuper has admitted Hamada Tolba’s well timed clearance from Victor Moses’ goal-bound shot was the turning point in his side’s 1-1 draw against Nigeria, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Moses who came on as a second half substitute for Ahmed Musa in the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium, Kaduna almost doubled the Super Eagles advantage in the game after dribbling past the Egyptian goalkeeper, with the 34-year old Tolba making a last ditch effort to prevent the ball from going into the net.
And the Argentine has nothing but praise for the defender who has been constantly criticised by the fans and the media.
“Hamada Tolba’s save was a turning point in the game,” Cuper told the media on his team’s arrival in Alexandria.
“I didn’t choose Tolba to challenge the media and the fans.
“Tolba may be 34 years old, but he has superb physical ability that will continue to prove useful to the team.”
The former Valencia boss also stated that he has never seen a large turn out of fans like the one he witnessed at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium.
“I have never witnessed this number of fans on the track of a pitch in my life which is dangerous but the fans were respectful and didn’t do anything offensive.”

Mohammed Salah should know that Nigeria national team supporters are not violent. He had such fears because he knew if the game is played in Egypt and the result turn out to be unfavorable to them their own fans could really be violent. We have seen situations like that in their league matches. That is why I appeal to the security agents and the government in Egypt to ensure that nothing untoward happens to the Nigerian team in case of an likely victory for them in Alexandria on Tuesday 29th March 2016.

@ ZikoOfAfrica..I can assure you that nothing like such will happen because nothing like "Likely Victory" will happen anyway so no cause for worries…
