Wales have been hit by the news open-side James Davies will miss their autumn Tests in November because of a knee injury. The 27-year-old has been sidelined for four months after picking up the problem during his club side Scarlets’ 38-29 Pro14 victory against Benetton on September 15.
As a result, Davies has no chance of featuring in the games against Scotland, Australia, Tonga and South Africa, played on successive Saturdays from November 3.
Scarlets head coach Wayne Pivac said: “He’s ruptured his PCL (posterior cruciate ligament) so I don’t think you’ll see him this side of Christmas.”
Davies’ injury is not the only absentee which Pivac will have to cope with in coming weeks as back-rowers Will Boyde and Josh Macleod are also sidelined with injury issues.
