Nigeria‘s women’s U-20 team coach, Peter Dedevbo, said the Falconets are psychologically, physically and mentally ready to make a big statement in their quarter-final match against New Zealand today.
“I have assembled some of the best players in the country, they are smart and experienced. I’ve brought together players from the U-17 team both of Costa Rica 2014 and Azerbaijan 2012 and others from Super Falcons to improve the team.
“I’m aware of the previous records of the team and sure this time around we will bring back home the trophy. I’m also confident with the level of training we have had, mark my words the team will make Nigeria proud,” Dedevbo told Goal.
The defensive trio of Sarah Nnodim, Victoria Aidelomon and Ebere Okoye who started against England at Edmonton formed part of the Nigerian back line at Trinidad and Tobago 2010 and Azerbaijan 2012.
