Watford captain Troy Deeney struck 10 minutes before regulation time to help his side to their third home Premier League win in a row with a 1-0 victory against Everton at Vicarage Road on Saturday.
It was the first time Watford will achieve the feat since April 2017 when they defeated Sunderland, Swansea and West Bromwich Albion in succession.
The best chance of the first half fell to Everton’s Oumar Niasse whose shot from a tight angle in the 12th minute was tipped onto the post by Orestis Karnesis.
The game opened up a little bit after the break but the two teams stood firm and appeared bent on not losing the game.
The breakthrough arrived 10 minutes from time when substitutes Kiko Feimina and Stephan Okaka combined and laid the ball for Deeney who fired the ball past Jordan Pickford from close range.
