–After impressive performance against Portland FC
United States international striker, Clint Dempsey is singing the praises of Obafemi Martins, following his return to action after the World Cup.
While Dempsey played and shone for the US men’s team in Brazil, Martins was tearing the MLS apart after being dropped by Coach Stephen Keshi.
And both were in action as Seattle Sounders defeated Portland 2-0, in the first game both will play together after the World Cup.
“It was fun, playing with Oba (Martins), it is like playing pickup, (what we call ‘set’ here) just in terms of we just look for each other”, Dempsey said.
“We see the game the same. We like to link up and make those passes that create space for each other so that we can create chances for each other to get looks in front of goal.
“I really enjoy playing with him. He’s a great player and he has had a great career and he continues to play well.
Martins, who was suspended after getting sent off, came on as a second half substitute to help Sounders win the game, with the team tied 0-0 in the first half.
